Transportation

MORE THAN SEVEN MILES OF NEW RAIL LINE HAVE BEEN CONSTRUCTED to connect Helena Harbor with the Arkansas Midland Railroad and Class I carrier, Union Pacific. The UP serves 23 states, linking every major West Coast and Gulf Coast port and provides service to the east through its four major gateways in Chicago, St. Louis, Memphis and New Orleans. Additionally, Union Pacific is the only railroad to serve all six major gateways to Mexico.

U.S. 49 Bridge

Highways are critical to the success of any intermodal facility, and Helena Harbor is no exception. The U.S. Highway 49 bridge at Helena is a major gateway for traffic to and from northern, southern and eastern destinations. The Helena bridge connects directly to 4-lane U. S. Highways 61 and 49, and planned Interstate 69, just ten miles to the east. Westbound traffic on U.S. 49 connects with Interstate 40 at Brinkely. All of these roadways can be quickly accessed from Helena Harbor via Arkansas Highway 20.

If air freight or airline service is critical, Helena Harbor will serve you well. The FedEx Superhub at the Memphis International Airport is just one hour away and can receive overnight packages for world-wide delivery as late as midnight. Memphis International is the world’s busiest air cargo facility and also a major hub for Northwest Airlines.

Direct jet passenger service to and from Atlanta is also available at the new Tunica Municipal Airport, just 30 minutes north of Helena.
